What is a Hydronic System?

A hydronic system is a network of pipes that circulate water throughout the building. The water is heated or cooled and then flows through the pipes to the hydronic system elements in your home. By setting the water temperature to a comfortable level, you can create and maintain a more comfortable environment in your home.

How the EVOHX Hydronic System works

A hydronic system works by circulating heated or cooled water through a network of pipes throughout your home. An EVOHX heat pump heats or cools the water, which is then delivered to fan coil units, ducted systems, radiators, or towel rails. These units gently transfer heat or cooling into each space, allowing the home to maintain comfortable, even temperatures with high energy efficiency.

Suitable for specific applications or complete home solutions.

The EVOHX system combines a central hydronic heat pump with ducted air systems, single-room cassettes, radiators, and heated towel rails to deliver flexible, whole-home heating and cooling in a wide range of configurations.

EVOHX System Elements

EVOHX Hydronic Systems can be assembled and installed from multiple system elements.

Hydronic Heat Pumps

The engine behind the system. A single heat pump can supply hot/cold water to multiple indoor units in many different configurations.

Ducted Air Systems

Like ducted heat pumps, these units can supply hot or cold air to different rooms, e.g. the bedrooms, with a single fan unit in the roof space.

Single room cassettes

Single room cassettes include ceiling-mounted cassettes and high- and low-wall units to heat and cool one room or area at a time.

Radiators and towel rails

Radiators and heated towel rails can be placed throughout the home to provide radiant heating and supplement the other units with extra heating.

Common Questions

What is a hydronic heating and cooling system?

A hydronic system uses water to move heat or cooling around your home, providing even, comfortable temperatures through fan coils, radiators, or ducted units.

Can an EVOHX system heat and cool my home?

Yes. EVOHX systems provide both heating in winter and cooling in summer using a single, integrated heat pump system.

Is a hydronic system more efficient than a standard heat pump?
In many whole-home applications, yes. Water transfers heat more efficiently than air, allowing the system to maintain comfort using less energy over time.
Will a hydronic system work in an existing home?
Yes. While hydronic systems are ideal for new builds, they can also be designed and retrofitted into existing homes, depending on layout and access.
Are hydronic systems noisy to run?
No. EVOHX systems are known for quiet operation, as most of the work is done centrally and water circulation is virtually silent.
